船灣淡水湖是全球首個在海中興建的水庫，於1960年11月動工，並於1968年建成，10月5日正式啟用。地處香港大埔大尾篤船灣郊野公園內、毗鄰赤門，是一個儲存飲用水的大型人工淡水湖，為香港面積最大、容量僅次於萬宜水庫的第二大的水塘。
Plover Cove Reservoir,start built in 1960,dedicated in 1968.The Reservoir is located in northeastern New Territories, is the largest reservoir in Hong Kong in terms of area, and the second-largest in terms of volume. It is the first in the world that constructed a lake from an ocean. Its main dam was one of the largest in the world at the time of its construction, disconnecting Plover Cove from the sea.
